Malindi Fickle

“Suck It Up Buttercup” marks Malindi Fickle's first foray into writing/directing narrative features. Fickle’s documentary “By The People” (2006), was broadcast nationwide on PBS and won a prestigious HUGO award. Critically acclaimed by The New York Times, Time Out NY, Film Journal International and New York Magazine, “By The People” was also ranked as one of the Top Docs at The Jackson Hole Film Festival and The Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences invited the "BTP" transcript to be included in their permanent collection. Malindi has a strong background in indie films. Before becoming an award winning filmmaker, she was an actor whose leads include “Jacklight,” a Cannes Critic Selection (director Steven Hentges); supporting roles include “Everything Relative” which premiered at Sundance (director Sharon Pollack). An accomplished director on the New York stage, her credits include, “Savior” at the Manhattan Ensemble Theater and “Voices in the Storm” for the Culture Project. Malindi graduated Summa Cum Laude from NYU.
