Dustin Morrow

Dustin Morrow is an Emmy-winning filmmaker, author, programmer and educator. He is a professor and the Interim Head of Film at Portland State University, where he teaches courses in digital cinema production and film studies. Professor Morrow’s short and feature films have won numerous awards and been shown in major film festivals and other venues around the world. He has written extensively about film and pop culture for a host of online and print publications, and he speaks about issues related to film and new media at conferences and festivals worldwide. Before re-entering academia, Morrow was an editor and director of short-form projects and series television in Los Angeles, for such clients as MTV and the Discovery Channel, and such filmmakers as Spike Jonze, Michael Apted, and Steven Soderbergh. He continues to operate his own independent production company, Little Swan Pictures, for which recent projects have taken him as far away as the Aleutian Sea. His current projects include a feature film musical called "Everything Went Down", just finishing a successful year-long run on the festival circuit; the new textbook "Producing for TV and New Media", published by Focal Press; and a book about the actor-director relationship that he is co-authoring with stage and screen legend Kathleen Turner.
