Learn how to acquire rights to intellectual property and how writers work with agents, publishers, and filmmakers when their book gets adapted. Literary agent Fiona Kenshole worked with Portland-based Laika acquiring and adapting books and original scripts into movies, including CORALINE and PARANORMAN. She'll moderate a panel discussion with Blake Nelson (PARANOID PARK), Whitney Otto (HOW TO MAKE AN AMERICAN QUILT), Randall Jahnson (THE DOORS), Arthur Bradford (SIX DAYS TO AIR), and James Lucas Jones (ONI PRESS).

Arthur Bradford

Arthur Bradford is an O Henry Award winning writer and Emmy-nominated filmmaker. His first book, Dogwalker, was published by Knopf and Vintage paperback in 2002, and has been translated into ten languages. In 2012 McSweeney's published Benny's Brigade, a children's book. Randall Jahnson

Randall Jahnson is an American writer, director and producer. His works include Dudes, The Doors, The Mask of Zorro, Sunset Strip, and episodes of the HBO TV series Tales from the Crypt. Jahnson also directed music videos for Stan Ridgway, Henry Rollins, Black Flag, and Minutemen. He also wrote Gun, a Western video game which was voted Best Story at the 2005 IGN Video Game Awards.

James Lucas Jones

James Lucas Jones is editor in chief at Portland-based publisher Oni Press. In his 14 years in the comic industry he has worked with a variety of creative heavyweights including Bryan Lee O'Malley, Greg Rucka, Stephen Colbert, Yo Gabba Gabba's Christian Jacobs & Scott Schultz, Rashida Jones, and Captain America 2 directors Joe & Anthony Russo.

Blake Nelson
